Floating in my swimming speedos in the Atlantic Ocean has always been one of the things I wanted to tick off my bucket list. And I did, it was a great experience. You might think of it as a trifle, as a boys thing, entirely not significant but for me it was very important to see that I could have this particular experience.
They say that everything you experience in life changes you up to some point. For me, floating in the salt water at the coast of France was one of these things. And it did change me, a bit.
And then I saw this shell lying at the beach in La Bernerie-En-Retz a few years back and decided to take it home as a tiny memory of a great time. Whenever life is moving too fast for me I just look down to this little shell hanging there, put it in my hand and stop. I stop running, thinking, worrying, shouting or whatever I am doing wrong at that moment.
Life is precious.
