Comfort Food

Purely objectively, this pizza is not exactly an Italian dish but sometimes you are craving for comfort food and as we all know a lot of food -whilst not very healthy- is always a great idea. If you call it Italian, comfort food always seems tastier because, after all, tasty food was invented by the Italians.

Feel free to vary the list of ingredients with whatever you like: black olives instead of green, other Italian Ham instead of Prosciutto Crudo, or hot peppers if you’re into that sort of thing; everything is possible and also allowed with comfort food, because it only contains the things you like. And lots of it.

Ingredients

  • 450 grams of white bread flour
  • 20 grams of butter
  • 200 grams of Prosciutto Crudo
  • 200 grams of mushrooms
  • 3 bags of grated Mozarella
  • 1 large Buffalo mozzarella
  • 1 green paprika
  • 1 red paprika
  • 1 red onion
  • 10 green olives
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1 Italian spicy salami
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 pack of Tomato Frito
  • 1 jar of large green peppers
  • 1 jar of artichoke hearts
  • Dried basil
  • Dried oregano
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt
  • Water

Getting started!

First make the white bread dough as directed on the packet with 300 ml of water and 20 grams of butter.

Put baking paper on the baking tray of your oven and grease it with a brush and a little olive oil to be sure, after all, you don’t want the pizza to stick to the baking paper just when you want to attack.

Slice the peppers, onion, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, Prosciutto Crudo, tomatoes, Buffalo mozzarella, salami, olives and the garlic and set aside.

Spread the white bread dough on the baking tray and press it well against the edges, as it is somewhat elastic and a lot of ingredients should fit on it.

Spray the packet of Tomato Frito empty onto the dough and spread it well. Sprinkle some of the dried Oregano, Basil and garlic powder on top.

Then top this with the pre-cut ingredients and scatter the slices of garlic and sprinkle a little salt.

Now lay the vegetables on top first, then a large green pepper here and there with its head cut off and finally the salami and Prosciutto Crudo.

After this, it’s the cheese’s turn, spread the thinly sliced Buffalo Mozzarella and the grated Mozarella all over the plate. The pizza is then ready for the oven.

Preheat the oven for about 10 minutes on hot air setting, about 200 degrees and put the plate in the oven. Let it cook for half an hour at 175 degrees, occasionally checking if the dough at the edge is turning a colour.

If the colour of the cheese and dough is as shown in the photo below, the Big Big Pizza is ready to use. Put it on the table with plate and all, it’s easier than dividing it over plates and it stays nice and hot. Enjoy your meal.
